ENOCH – The Man Who NEVER Died (and the Book Left Out of the Bible)

About this video

One line in Genesis has puzzled readers for thousands of years: Enoch walked with God, and he was not, because God took him. No tomb. No body. No funeral. Only one other man in all of Scripture ever left this world the same way — and Enoch got there first, centuries before Abraham was even born.

In this episode we tell the complete story of Enoch: the genealogy of Genesis 5 and the funeral bell that tolls eight times before falling silent on his name, the son he named Methuselah — a name that, in Hebrew, hides a countdown to the Flood — the three hundred sixty-five years that mirror a solar year, the ancient Book of Enoch with its own calendar and its account of the Watchers on Mount Hermon, and the thousand years that book spent lost to the West before it resurfaced twice: once in Ethiopia, once in a cave by the Dead Sea.

This episode draws on the genealogies of Genesis 5 and 6; the Book of Enoch, preserved for centuries in Ge'ez by the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and still inside its biblical canon today; the three manuscripts explorer James Bruce carried out of Ethiopia in 1773; the Aramaic fragments of the Book of Enoch found in Cave 4 at Qumran in 1952, proving the text circulated among Jews centuries before Christ; and the letter of Jude, which quotes the Book of Enoch by name as true prophecy.
